Buttock Liposuction

Buttock Liposuction is a cosmetic procedure aimed at removing excess fat from the buttocks to achieve a slimmer and more balanced contour. Unlike some other forms of liposuction, buttock liposuction often focuses on sculpting and refining the shape rather than drastically reducing volume, as maintaining a natural curve is often a priority.

Procedure Overview

  1. Consultation: During this step, the surgeon evaluates the size, shape, and fat distribution in your buttocks to determine the best approach and ensure your goals are realistic.

  2. Anesthesia: The procedure is performed under local or general anesthesia, depending on the extent of fat removal.

  3. Incisions: Small, discreet incisions are made in areas where scars are less noticeable, such as under the buttock crease.

  4. Fat Removal and Sculpting: A thin tube (cannula) is used to remove fat while sculpting the area to enhance its natural contours. Common techniques include:

    • Tumescent Liposuction: Involves injecting a saline solution with anesthetic before fat removal.
    • Laser or Ultrasound-Assisted Liposuction: Uses heat to liquefy fat for smoother removal.
  5. Closing Incisions and Recovery: Once the procedure is complete, the incisions are closed and covered, and compression garments are applied to minimize swelling and support healing.

Benefits

  • Reduces excess fat for a more proportional silhouette.
  • Refines the shape of the buttocks while maintaining natural curves.
  • Improves self-confidence and comfort in clothing.

Recovery

  • Initial Recovery: Swelling, bruising, and tenderness are common and usually subside within a few weeks.
  • Compression Garments: Worn for 4–6 weeks to help with contouring and swelling reduction.
  • Resuming Activities: Light activities can be resumed in a few days, but full recovery typically takes 4–6 weeks.

Risks

  • Uneven contours or asymmetry.
  • Scarring (minimal with proper care).
  • Temporary numbness or changes in skin sensation.
